Salve is an oil based moisturizer for the skin. The Rosemary variety is earthy, grounding, and sometimes used to dab on to the temples for certain types of headache relief. It is an excellent daily skin soothing moisturizer or can be used in first aid applications with the intention of hastening the healing of minor cuts, scrapes, bruises, burns, rashes and bug bites. It is made by infusing organic olive and coconut oils with herbs that are known to be cell regenerative (actually make new skin cells!), calendula flower and comfrey leaf. The herbs soak into the oil for about one week at a low temperature. Then we remove the herbs, add the beeswax, vitamin E and essential oil of Rosemary.
Rosemary Salve
The salve will be a lovely consistency, firm but easy to press your fingers into at room temperature. If you keep it in your car on a summer day it may be liable to melt into a liquid mess. So store it upright if it is very hot out.
